BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Barcelona, Irene Gimenez is a dance artist based in London.

As an international performer, Irene has worked in Spain, Portugal and the UK dancing with various companies and choreographers in a number of styles drawing from her variety of training.

She has a special interest in cultural diversity as well as traditional dance, and how they connect with contemporary dance, leading her to develop different projects performed in Barcelona such as Pajaros and “Chiquita Equinoccio”.

In the UK she has performed with companies such as The Follow Through Collective, Dance across Mediums, Zjana Muraro, Tamae Yoneda, Ben Moss Dance, Collective 31 and Marie Yagami Movement .

She is currently studying an MA in Contemporary Dance (DAP) at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) in order to deepen further into her creative and performative practice.
